Small Web Index

Small Web Index is a link directory of web pages that fall into the "Small Web" category (in my opinion of course, see below).

There are many definitions of the "Small Web" concept. Some platforms define it as individual blogs that were recently updated. Others select neat indie sites that are otherwise invisible in the mainstream internet.

Small Web Index focuses on the goal instead of website criteria.

Goal: identify a minimal slice of the Internet that contains "Intentional Knowledge" as opposed to "Attention Knowledge".

A large portion of modern Web is driven by attention economics that feeds you the information to users without inquiry.

This web directory attempts to collect websites that contain information for deliberate inquiry.

What's explicitly excluded:

• no e-commerce or other corporate websites - that's not knowledge.
• no AI generated content - it's a derivative knowledge and the focus is on the original source
• no social media - while it has some original knowledge, it's part of the Larger Web
• no news - while news contain certain knowledge,
